Please don't do this anet
I think it was a few days ago that the frog told people that in the expansion the map would expand. I just want to say that if it does I don't want to have any more areas like post searing ascalon. That was my least favorite area. I'm hoping for more Lions Arch type areas. Just wanted to get that off my chest.

How ever the depressing state of destruction across ascalon was a product of the charr invasion... in my mind it really brought out the point of trying to destroy the charr or flee to another place... like over the mountains to kryta. I'm all for some more kryta and desert oasis locations.

Excellent.
If it wasn't for you guys here, i wouldn't know what the frog says.
I have always loved the idea of an expanded map. The first couple of weeks that i spent clearing the fog and finding new landscapes was magical.
I agree, no more scorched terrain though.

yeah... can't there be some areas rebuilt? I mean how pointless is it to push back the charr, kill off them all and when you go back... they are still there? Where is the rebuilding process? Running through the wartorn fields spreading grass seed?
Mission log
"Help Farmer Isaac Greengrower clear out the grawl and spread grass seeds"
1000 exp
Items aplenty (skill that increases drop rates on farm runs)

I think in long term, people perfer a more 'greenly and peace' atmosphere. For example, more people choose the 'green n comfortable' guildhalls over the 'dark and unconfortable' guildhalls. The same thing apply to maps.
Yes some areas should be 'evil and chaosic' but the majorities of areas should be confortable.

I personally would enjoy a Grenth-esque area. And don't even try Grenth's Footprint. I'm talking about the Isle of the Dead, or the location of the Shrine of Grenth is Pre-Searing. Perhaps a journey to Orr, with Undead and Ruins galore. Not only would this be an interesting place to visit, with vastly different enviornments, but it would help those of us who care learn more about the country.

lmao, I gotta admit that that could be pretty awesome if you incorporated some elements from GTA along with it. I can see it now....a carriage full of rangers pulling up along-side some ppl...."Plink those b!@#$%s!" lmao, but it wouldn't really fit in with GW...at all...maybe as a bonus map/mini-game or something? ^ ^

in the expansion i would like to see outposts or an explorable areas with more man made structures and densely packed buildings. currently, there arent any big cities in guildwars, there isnt any area with densely packed houses and buildings. Lions Arch is supposed to be a big city, but apart from a few merchant tents, i dont see any living quarters, just makes u wonder where all the locals live. At least in Ascalon Settlement in north kryta u see rows of houses when u walk up the path. gives you an impression that it's more like a thriving village. But atlas Ascalon Settlement is not very big. I would like to see an area with rows of houses/shops on both sides of the path, just like a thriving city.

So everything's green and woody and nice.. and yet we're at war with everything?
Ascalon looks the best out of the areas, or at least most appropriate.

Can we go to a utopia or green nice not-dead looking place? I'm sick of all this stuff, I just want a normal town that has been untouched by the cold, jungle, searing, magma, desert, etc... I want a nice place with green meadows and large trees and beautiful flowers where maybe people have lived in harmony as a place to rest and see part of a world not in conflict. This would be a great new original area, maybe we could have rivers and canals with farmers where we can just travel the land like of hedge mazes and puzzles instead of fights.

This is intriging. But how would puzzles make its way into GW?
They would have to make puzzles that are fun to play and assume that everyone knows the solutions, because; thier mystery would soon lose its spark after they are played a few times.
They mush be dynamic, like tetris, and not static like a crossword puzzle so each time its played its always challenging.
I can invision how this could work and it seems nice.
Im all for it.

water with bridges, boats/rafts, shipwrecks, underwater secret passages, buried treasure... i loved that one mission with the lightning drakes. Not too unpleasant either, i might add. Well, the bonus was rather wicked, and those drakes were no pushovers. But lovely nonetheless.

A large misty swamp filled with dead creatures, just like in one of the Lord Of The Rings episodes.
Just keep the bog skale and mergoyles away!

And by the way, Monday (19th) is International Talk Like a Pirate day!
